Over priced and pretentious.
Saying that, the food is nice. Not amazing. Just nice. Cocktails are worth going for!
Very very expensive though!

I have been 4 – 5 times, and have never left feeling disappointed, it is on the pricey side, but once in a while it is definitely worth it — especially for the view over the Estuary.
Try the cocktails at the centre bar after your meal.

Well, what can I say I just love this restaurant and it never dissapoints! The food and service are both great, and the view over the estuary fab!

Great view, average food, high price and VERY noisy. Average service as the waiter had to use sign language. Love the indifferent reception and as for the bouncers Guv!

Enjoyed a splendid business lunch at the Boat Yard recently. Good, attentive service and a warm welcome.
Served a perfectly decent chicken salad followed by Strip Steak with Fries like your mother failed to make. Lunch time price was acceptable.

We have been to this resturant twice off our own back the first time was terrible, we were told it had improved it was worse, and 3 times invited by friends over a period of time each time a really bad experience. When you are invited for someones birthday you go along as its a social ocasion however if you cannot afford to waste money or care about the quality of food, there are many better resturants that I strongly suggest you choose before this one. Food was served cold, service is poor, mixers off the gun tasted like sticky syrup and the prices reflect a resturant that is much better. There is a saying you get what you pay for here you do not. Avoid at all costs until they sort themselves out. Loverly setting beautiful view is the only positive thing about this place shame you can’t get a takeaway delivered there it would be better quality and hotter than what they serve.

Agree with the last comment, the food is not of the quality you would expect for the price. Their are better restaurants available in Leigh. The last time I visited the restaurant they even had a 70s disco halfway through service! That was it for me

Food was awful. I know fresh food, i own a restaurant in London, Perth Australia and Rome, and their food was frozen bought in rubbish. The décor was like you were on an old boat and the prices were extreme.
I ordered the steak and asked the waitress for a steak knife and her reply was «No, we dont have them, but i can cut it up for you», and then had the audacity to call me «Darling»
What a joke.
Please don’t waist your time eating here. Even Burger King is a better choice.

Great Quality food, well presented, attentive and friendly service.
I am a demanding diner and this place ticked all of the boxes.

Great food but on the expensive side.
There’s a few sections to the restaurant which I like, there’s a bar area, upstairs and boat rack/​decking seating all are equally as good with either views around the restaurant or of the lovely Thames Estuary. the menu changes regularly although my favourite is autumn/​winter when they serve delicious squash recipes! They also cater for large and private parties to make events even more special.

very nice food it is a little exspensive but you pay for what you get. make sure you book on most week nights and the weekend can be a bit of a mission to get in but it is worth it

If you haven’t been to Leigh on Sea you should do. It is well worth a day out even in the winter. The Boat Yard is the place to eat here. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. The food is wonderful; the times that I have been here the menu was different each time and had a lovely inventive variety. I am vegetarian and find it a joy to eat here. The veggie choices are varied and you have a good selection. It is such a pretty place; I recommend a good walk along the sea front or estuary really. It is always bustling with people and will give you a hearty appetite. Fantastic food, reasonably priced I feel for the quality of the food you get.

Great setting, great food, great service and a great big bill! Seriously though, if you don’t mind paying to get a very nice meal then this is the place to eat in Leigh.
The gruyère cheese and onion tart for starters was fabulous, the steak was good, deserts to die for and bar bill wasn’t outrageous. Live entertainment on some nights.
