I remember this pub as one of the first ones on 3 legged student pub crawls from the Uni. I never knew about the stables area out back before though, looks nice.
Wasted opportunity though as on the only occasion that I have been there recently they were serving bad bad barely drinkable beer.

It’s ok. I always seem to walk into it when there is a student pubgolf bar crawl on. It’s fine if you want a quiet drink before going somewhere else but it isn’t that special unless it’s your local. It is right next to the station, so you’ll find that you will get people waiting for trains there as well. It’s traditional, so it beats going to a chain pub instead.
