The Dry Dock

Great place to drink there at weekends as it’s best not to go there in week days as it gets too much for people with that quiz and students taking over the pool tables and it made my friend uneasy to students for asking for the pool table too much

Scream chain pub. Great for drinks not so much for food. Of the 6 or 7 times I’ve ordered food, with 4 of those there were problems. It was either cold, wrong, bad tasting or undercooked. It tastes like it costs… Cheap. But they put on a cracking pub night and the setting is great. Inside an old canal barge with a retractable roof for summer, an outdoor pool table and plenty of heated, covered outdoor seating. The staff are quick and friendly, the drinks are cheap and they do some nice mixed drinks (to call them cocktails would be too much). No proper ales though. I’ve never been here for drinks and had a bad time.

Had some great times here when i was a student. Cheap beer, cheap food, pool tables and nice outdoor space for sunny days. In fact the roof of the boat opens on nice days too!
Very studenty though… at the grand old age of 27 i might feel a bit ancient here now!

An old yellow boat right in central Leicester??? For exterior intrigue, it invites you to a pub thats part of the Scream chain.
Inside you walk in and its a lil cheezy, with the overdo for a «new hip» student pub atmosphere rather than a drab old boat you expect inside (even though you kind of want it to be a drab old boat inside). Dry dock’s a little close to Leicester Uni so you get the student crowd rolling through, but that also means that there’s good deals on drinks!
Its a chill pub with a few pool tables to fuck around on, with some soft couches that look a little overly new age. But who cares, throw down a few pints and enjoy your time in this boat. Hopefully you come out feeling that the boat is rocking! Its a great place for chill drink and a mellow time with some mates!

Liked it when it was opened in my last year as a student but last time I went back we ordered some food. We were given a mug with a stubbed out cigarette and a piece of chewed gum in it to mark our table (nice) and in the ‘cheeseburger’ there were a few tiny crumbs of cheese that could easily have been scraped off the plate of the last person who had a cheese related meal.
Either standards have slipped dramatically or when I was 21 I didn’t have any :)
