A few years ago this place used to sell ‘the best samosas with coriander chutney’ in the world — no joke! I used to make detours of hundreds of miles just to pick up a cartload of these and other savoury delights if I could consider Leicester as ‘on the way’ to wherever I was travelling. The samosas were filled with a variety of vegetables together with potato. Latterly, however, whether down to a change of chef or, maybe, commercial pressure, the samosas have reduced to the more common ‘peas and potato’ recipe produced in the standard Asian sweet centre. What a great shame. Don’t get me wrong… the samosas are still good but they no longer have that ‘je né sais qoui’ that makes the greater detour worthwhile. Come on New Purnima — bring back the original recipe and I’ll give you the last star back! I would still highly recommend this establishment if you happen to be passing nearby.

One of the best places for Indian gujerati food. Amazing sweet and savoury snacks and awesome prices! The shop is tiny and a little run down, but for the many years it’s been running; the quality of their products has not diminished. Simply delicious food! The staff are friendly and helpful.
