Considering that from the Highcross you’re within five minutes walk of Byron, Handmade Burger, MeatCure, Crafty Burger, Coast to Coast, The Parcel Yard and, well, McDonalds, plus Five Guys opening next month, you’d think this place would raise its game on the burger stakes. As it was I managed to spend over £25 on one burger, one kid’s meal and three soft drinks, and I got a dull, overcooked slab of gristly meat with processed bacon on top, and the boy got some overcooked chicken bits which he was smart enough to refuse to eat, and we both got some soggy chips to go with it. As I’m trying to eat low carb, I asked for salad instead of fries, but it turns out that that kind of complex executive decision was beyond the manager’s ability and«he’d have to check with the area manager.» Slow service, dull processed food and ridiculous prices. The boy’s milkshake was nice but it would take some talent to screw up a milkshake. Very poor. Avoid like the plague.

The atmosphere was very retro-American. The staff were a slightly incompetent and seemed to have something better to do, and the chef’s wandering eye seems to put a lot of people off returning. As for the food, it was okay. A bit overpriced if I’m honest, for what we got. The Burger was bland and unseasoned but all-in-all, not too bad.
