Yates

Terrible. Just, don’t do it. I know it’s not a place for food, but even if you’re desperate just McDonald’s it up instead. The chicken was water. Yes, chicken-​y water. And fries were great if you really enjoy eating woodchips. It’s cheap, and will leave you broken and full of regret.

It’s a tip. Tables are filthy. Bathrooms are gross. We ordered nachos and drinks and while it was cheap, I just feel for such a nice location that they have got they could take a little more pride in their place.

City centre pub seeks personality; no reasonable offer refused.
What can i say, it’s a city centre place where you can grab a city centre priced drink before seeking out entertainment.
To be fair I did visit mid week when the place was almost empty but even then the background noise made conversation difficult.
Leeds has so much to offer I’m not sure there’s a place for such a featureless place but then weekends do get busy so anywhere that is serving alcohol will do it’s bit.

I liked it in there, the service was good, the bar staff were very friendly, the price of a beer was very good and it’s right close to the railway station. All in all, I was very happy with my visit there!

Yates. Blah. It’s another chain, but whereas some of the Yates’ I’ve been to in previous years have a slightly snooty slant on their branding, more a wine bar type of place, this Yates just seems to attract those guys that hit on anything in a bra, although their preference is anything not in a bra… swing low sweet chariot. We started to make our way upstairs and we noticed the familiar sound of sticky floors trying to suck face with our shoes. Gross much? The sticky effect continued in with the tables, which were, yeah, sticky. Not sure if it was sanitizer or remnants of last nights boozy shenanigans. The décor is generic to Yates, dark wood floors dark wood dark booths and magnolia walls. It’s devoid of an atmosphere and in the daytime the bar staff look truly bored. Not surprising really, it was Saturday afternoon and I think there were three maybe four tables of people in there, and as it’s a large place, it wasn’t filled. Nope. Food served is basic pub grub, slightly better than Lloyds calibre, with plenty of offers to lure students and peoples on a budget in, you’ve got your buy one get one free types, your burger and a beer for £4.95 and all those other cheapo things. If you venture in of an evening, it’s a decent place to start the night as it’s right off the train station, cheap drinks and more than a couple of wines and beers to choose from. Whatever it is, it’s better than Square. That’s all I’m saying.

Commonly known as bottom Yates. This Yates’ is located close to the train station as well as other city centre hotspots, meaning this place is ideal for a drink and food either before or after a shopping trip or on the rise up to a night out.
Yates’ offers a wide selection of drinks deals, from shots, to spirits, ales and cocktails. They also offer tea and coffee. The meals are fairly good portions and you can have snacks, or combo platters and they also do a 2 for £7 meal offer.

Yates is a great place to go for some cheap drinks as there are loads of offers available on shots, spirits and wine. It has some good music that will get your night off to a good start.
It is also does some great food at cheap prices with some great offers also. The food is on all day if you looking for a nice meal while your busy shopping or something a little later while your out it is ideal.
