The White Horse is a pleasurable pub to drink in, family run and very well policed you never get any problems in there. With a large Beer garden to the rear and a couple of benches to the front you can all-ways catch that bit of sunshine when it comes. The drinks are reasonably priced and the Carling is to die for. Karaōke on a Friday and Saturday night is if nothing else a good laugh. A Quiz on a Sunday night for the brighter ones finishes off the weekend entertainment. A good spot to visit. George the landlord is a right laugh and will allways welcome you. Sunday lunch is served between twelve and three that’s if they don’t run out, its that good.

While other Leeds suburbs seem to have gone down the upmarket commuter route, overflowing with gastropubs and wholefood stores, Armley has stayed true to its roots and the White Horse is a perfect example of this. It’s a proper pub, with dim lighting, real ales and committed regulars and — that stalwart of the old-fashioned pub scene — it’s own football team, while the refreshments on offer are strictly limited to beer, pies and chips, and a lager shandy for the lady. If you come in here wanting a sophisticated experience you’ll leave disappointed, but if you just want somewhere warm and lively to quench your thirst it does the job well.
