If you’re a student at Leeds University why go to any other book shop for your course texts? It is conveniently in the Union and they have all of the course reading lists so know exactly what you need and usually have enough in stock for everyone. This was more than useful when I studied Literature at University. There was a whole table in the literature section where the novels, plays and poetry anthologies were displayed that we would need each semester. But they don’t stop there. They also have loads of other fiction and non-fiction, and really nice notebooks. When you have finished with a text book you can take it back and put it in the second hand section. When someone buys it you get the most of the money and the bookshop take a small percentage(I can’t remember how much exactly as its been a while since I’ve needed to do this). And if they don’t sell it you can just take it back. They have a great service where you can set up an account, which if you can persuade your parents to do for you is invaluable. You buy the books, put it on the account and they pay for it!

A book shop connected to Leeds University. A a student, i found this shop very disappointing. It has a very small range of books that are only suitable for first years. It is also VERY expensive. Just go somewhere else for your course books.

I had heard this was quite a good place to get some good book bargains but unfortunately that wasnt the place. Given it did have a few hard to find books but they were rather steep to purchase. The choice of books was very limited and not much help for what we needed. They did have a good choice in biographies for some reason — i think they mustve had a run on them alately and had overbought. The staff were very nice and friendly and did ask if we wanted them to find the book we were after. They were very chatty too. The store was nice and clean and very small and tidy.
