The food here is pretty standard pub grub although it is a nice touch that it’s not only the carvery meals that allow you to help yourself to veg/chips/sides. There were two things that let the Wellington down on my visit. Firstly the staff didn’t seem sure how much to charge and secondly the service at the carvery was very slow with long waits for top ups of things like Yorkshire puddings. I liked the meal deals which made our visit reasonably good value.

Came here for the carvery, the price was reasonable for a sunday at £6.95 per adult. Did get quite busy and the seating and table arrangements could be made better, there is no separate restaurant part and you can basically sit anywhere to eat. The carvery area was very busy and you were dodging people trying to get back to your seat, the lady serving the meat looked like she didn’t want to be there. Overall the food was very nice I would come back here again but at a less busy time or try to find a table where its less crowded.

Went on boxing day, it was quiet but they were turning people away who had not booked. Food was good staff were very friendly.

I have visited this place 5 times in the last year. The first two were fine although I’m always amazed how much food is on the floor! But on the last 3 occasions, the Wellington had run out of food! Not sure why I kept trying again but thought that at 8 p.m. it would be ok! No! No meat left but lots of vegetables! This happened a third time last week when I was told when ordering a drink that there was no meat left!(Customers were queuing up to be served!) They didn’t want to serve a very adult looking 19 year old for a pint of beer either and refused a perfectly valid Proof of Age card recommended by West Yorkshire Police! They refused to give me the name and address of their Head Office too! Altogether a very unpleasant evening — but the food IS very cheap!(when they have any!)

Went for a carvery lunch with my family and it was very busy as there was a funeral party in. Luckily we found some spare tables and went to queue for the carvery. The chef was very friendly and chatty to us and gave us whatever we wanted. We enjoyed the food very much and it is extremely good value for money. You are able to return for more vegetables if you want them and all the staff are helpful and friendly. I go there on a regular basis and always enjoy it. It is always comfortable and warm with a pleasant atmosphere.

I was a little bit scared when Steve took me here for Sunday lunch — I felt a little overdressed as I wasn’t in a hoodie and tracksuit. Once I realised the way forward was to ensure eye contact with the locals was avoided at all costs, I relaxed a bit, and actually thoroughly enjoyed my carvery meal. I got a couple of slices of beautifully cooked beef, a tasty yorkshire pud, some roast potatoes, veg, and homemade gravy for £6.95. Very, very nice it was. I’d come here again, definitely. I think I might need to stock up on my Kappa, first, though.
