Have to say I was a bit underwhelmed by The Shed Bar, I couldn’t quite tell what it was meant to be, but then again, it didn’t either. It’s nice and close to town as Matt has mentioned, and I’d like to try it out on a night other the Friday, however… We went on a Friday, it’s a bar, and has no obvious dancefloor, it’s also far too loud to even consider talking. My friends and I had a bit of a go at shouting across the narrow table we were sitting at, then downed our drinks and found somewhere else. It’s a shame there isn’t somewhere to dance(apologies if there is, I didn’t notice it and you can render some of this review useless) as we would have done. If you’re going to provide seating and tables though, I expect to be able to chat. A few db quieter and everyone would have been happy. Music choice was good however, and there are a limit number of seats outside. Is it a loud bar, or a small club with no dancing? Maybe I’ll have to try it on a weeknight…

Awesome venue, what’s not to love about serious rock n roll! Certainly not heard any Kaiser Chiefs(Thank god — poppy garbage) like previous reviewer. Been in pretty much every week for last few months and always playing my fave tunes — Who, Stones, Cribs, PJ, Kasa, Foals, Franz… list goes on. Well chuffed they’ve done out toilets recently as they were pretty rank!

Right then who fancies a right royal rock out? You know there is a time and a place for it and it’s sometimes a dying breed in the city. Not at the Shed Bar it’s not, party on Wayne. Just under the railway arches and before the onslaught of Queens Court and the Calls, it sits loud and proud. The interior is, well sorry to be obvious but done like a shed! Not in a bad way mind. It’s nice wooden flooring and the like but it’s about the music. If you’re feeling in the mood for some Kings of Leon, Muse or maybe even Leeds’ finest the Kaiser Chiefs then this is the kind of place you’ll like. Don’t worry too much about what designer jeans you’ve got on and go for the vibe. What’s more they are well stocked with spirits(get in), have more than enough malt whiskeys to temp you with and of course some cocktails. It’d be rude not to. Just a welcome warning to those on planning to hit the shooters menu. Four shots for a tenner may seem like a good plan at the time, but the head may not agree the next day. That said, it’s Jäger all the way and a nice helping of Dragon’s Breathe. That’s Drambuie, pepper vodka and Tabasco you you. Oh yes, it’s good. No seriously it is.

Shed has a great location, under the train station, and yet I’ve never seen it very busy(not to say it doesn’t get busy). It only opened last year after being renovated and it offers great music and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. A recommended after work drinking spot(they have some great offers) and definitely a place you should swing by at the weekends.
