My only experience of The Ringway was as a mid-afternoon stop during an arduous day trekking around Horsforth. It was one of the most mundane pubs I have ever visited — not bad in any way, but similarly not good at all. Some pubs are intentionally modern, others are fiercely traditional, but The Ringway has the sort of feel about it that makes you think it has made no effort either way. It is traditional insomuch as it was probably modern in the 1980s — stained old furniture, a dartboard, old-school toilets. It has slipped into the past, but not intentionally, and not in a graceful way, which is a shame, considering its location on Leeds’ Ring-Road. It’s not all bad, however — the drinks are reflective of the quality of the establishment — low.
