Went to the range this morning, could not fault the shop, it is fine, lots of choice, keen prices, good DIY and art sections and helpful staff. BUT THECOFFEESHOP. 4 staff with two speeds slow and dead slow, joined a short queue just before 11.25 to purchase the breakfast special, bacon muffin and coffee, seemed good value at £3.20, but ended at 11.30. With 1 minute to spare I ordered it x 2. She made the Americano coffee then I was told they had no bacon,(2 minutes previous they had put some in the oven) another girl(I’m sure in error) said they had no muffins. strange for such a large concern, then to cap it all I was told that it only lasted until 11.30. Had they not been so slow I would ahve been serverd by 11.30. They obviously wanted to start serving lunches. I would have ordered cappucino coffees with a free choice but she had made the plain coffees, which had no taste at all other than they were wet. The tables were untidy and uncleared from entering to leaving, customers were moving cups and saucers. This part of the store wants a real shake up, the firm have a massive chance to create a monopoly of food and yet they treat it in a very bad way, I cannot imagine going into this part of the store again. CHECKINGOUT at 12.15, large queues, 10 per till, but only two tills open, could and should do better. 5* for the shop 0* for the coffee shop so 3*

Enormous shop, with an enormous range. Perfect for those interested in arts and crafts, with a superb range of card toppers, easels, canvases, paints etc. It’s fairly basic, but you can get Papermania items which aren’t available in Hobbycraft. Everything for the home, including furniture, cutlery, pet food, garden plants, and random sweets and coffee near the tills! The café is very basic, but cheap and cheerful. You’ll probably spend a bomb here, but you’ll save in the long run.

It’s hard to categorise The Range, because it sells pretty much everything you can think of. My friend Ste discovered it because it’s right near our work, and I have spent many a happy lunch hour mooching about planning what to buy on next payday. Most of the stuff is dirt cheap, but beware, as you can easily end up spending a fair few quid once you’ve had a look around. There’s a wide selection of canvas prints and frames, lots of arts and crafts things, a huge selection of pet goodies, a garden centre section, beds, tables and chairs, sofas, bedlinen, bathroom stuff, tools, kitchen stuff, sweeties, pop, crsips, a coffee shop, sewing things, and BEANBAGS, I put that in capital letters because beanbags are hard to get hold of nowadays. Ooh and they sell lights and stuff too. It’s really quite a ‘range’. Heh heh.
