Oh goodness, this was a disappointment and a half. It’s always nice to have an alternative to the standard £3 doughy bready gooey pizza, which you never really enjoy but can at least be happy that it didn’t cost the world, but I do not recommend this place as that alternative. My reasoning is three-fold. For a start, we ordered our dishes and were promptly told that they would be arriving within half an hour. They did not. An hour later, and getting rather irritable, we rang back to enquire as to when our food would be arriving and we were informed another ten minutes and it would be with us. Nope, fifteen minutes later, and it arrived. I realise it’s petty to quibble over the extra five minutes, but once you’ve gone over that extra half an hour late boundary, every minute counts! Secondly, the food itself was really below par. Granted, in comparison to some greasy donner meat it would measure up quite nicely, but as a Thai dish in itself it was poor. The sauce was bland and, despite claiming the Thai Green Curry was ‘mild’ was in fact hot enough to make my nose run and my mouth begin to burn! And the spice that it had wasn’t even flavour-some or rich, it was merely hot and unwanted. The ‘meat’ within the dish was that odd rubbery almost fake meat and the whole dish was just very unsatisfying. Lastly, with so many other genuinely good Thai take-aways, I don’t think I’d ever bother with these guys again. When I can purchase a Gang Kiew Wan with nice chicken and steamed coconut rice for only a few pounds more I’ve no reason to bother with the McDonalds of the Thai food take aways in Leeds, The Noodle Bar. I mean, granted it was cheap but it wasn’t even fast. If you were desperate for food and couldn’t face another nasty kebab, maybe think about here. But consider also that there are so many other Thai places who could satisfy you better, too.

Fed up of Burger and Chips? The same Donner Meat after a night out? A pizza during the week when you can’t be bothered to cook… again? What many people don’t know is that for the same price you pay for the above, and with a LOT less calories you can order a much healthier meal from The Noodle Bar. The menu consists of mainly Thai based noodle meals such as Thai chowmein and Thai Green curry(both coming in at a really cheap £4.50). In addition to the Thai options, The Noodle Bar cooks up the more popular Chinese options such as Sweet and Sour chicken! However, it is the less popular dishes that I recommend, and personally would choose over a Pizza any day. Dishes such as Wu Dong(Japenese Noodles) and Ho Fun(Chinese Noodles) are served with Shrimp, Veg, Duck, Chicken or Beef and are just divine. The Noodle Bar serves food that isn’t dripping with grease but fill that urge for a taste a little different from the norm! Eating for two(with a large appeitite), three or four? I love the set meal for 2(b) for a group. This comes in at only £16 and includes prawn crackers, special combination of starters for 2, special curry, beef with green peppers and black bean sauce and 2 chicken friend rice! The Noodle Bar, perfect for those can’t be bothered to cook nights! Go on… treat yourself.
