Tasty Toasties

The food is lovely, there’s always a long queue which goes down quick. Don’t like the 30p charge to pay by card though. Staff are friendly enough and the portions are value for money too

How can I not have reviewed «Tastie Toasties»?! A lunch staple for two years (well, it was when we couldn’t afford Philpotts anymore), the Spicy Mexican chicken sandwiches were really something else.

For the working masses it’s not always possible for long, laboured lunches and that is where the good old trusted take-​away comes in useful. So the Wellington Street workers of the world can unite at Tasty Toasties.
Being one of those hard working types (cough), it’s nice to get away from the desk and avoid the work canteen from time to time. So it’s reassuring that a good option is five minutes walk away.
They’ve got an excellent selection of sandwiches, all freshly made up. Choose from granary to ciabatta, from hot to cold. If you fancy a salad too, then that’s no problem. Bursting with pasta or whatever you fancy and the wraps are pleasant too. It’s not ground breaking food, just good quality fast and healthy food. Of course you don’t have to be healthy, but one must try.
The service is extremely quick too so don’t be put off by the inevitable lunch time queues. Be warned that the later you go the less choice you’ll have though.
