For me, the ultimate chinese takeaway meal is a chicken chow mein. Therefore, the ultimate Chinese takeaway establishment is surely the one that does the best chow mein? Well, Sunrise does the best chow mein I have ever come across in a silver cardboard box. But, because this is by far the best thing on the menu, I can’t really call it the ultimate Chinese takeaway. The spring rolls and other little snacks are just too greasy, while the prawn crackers are usually a little bit soggy. But Sunrise does do the important thing — main meals — right. Let’s face it, you’re probably not going to order just spring rolls or prawn toast, because that’s not what a Chinese takeaway is about — you’re going to get a huge meal, and if you’re using Sunrise, it should be the chow mein.
