Parklane Properties

Park Lane properties really helped me settle down in Leeds and made everything straightforward and simple. Couldn't thank them enough!

Gah. Estate agents. The old cliché of bad estate agents is there for a very good reason: it’s so difficult to find a decent one. Unfortunately my dealings with Parklane have done nothing to impugn this notion, merely to underline it.
Having browsed a number of their properties via the interweb my boyfriend and I decided to make an appointment with them to gaze on these dwellings in person. They ticked many of our boxes and so we wanted to see if they were as good in life as on paper.
The mere showiness of Parklane HQ put me off a little. It felt like they would almost certainly have something to hide. The chap who was taking us asked if we could hang on a few minutes and then we were off. He started scoping us out, to see what we were after, and we then explained that we had specified the properties we’d like to see. But no, that was not a part of the agenda for today.
He took us to a different property that was meant to fit what we had asked for. It did not — it was a little far out from where we wanted to be, the general care of the building inside was student-​eqsue to say the least, and in one of the downstairs rooms there was a tenant still in bed asleep. The tenant grumbled and hid under the covers as we were shown the en suite and wardrobe space (which, I really would have rather missed considering the company) and then we went on to the next viewing.
I suppose in full, whilst the agent was clearly doing his best to rent us a house, I didn’t feel like he had listened to a thing we had asked for. We are young professionals who wanted a well cared for house, not a cramped messy house with a student feel. It almost felt like, as we were mid-​20s not mid-​30s, that was the general sort of place on offer to us, and not the three up-​market classy homes we had asked for in the first place. In general, although the man who showed us around was certainly a nice man, he didn’t listen and he didn’t do what we had asked — to show us the houses that we were looking for. I can’t really say more than that.

I first visited Park Lane Properties when I was looking for a 3 bedroom flat/​house with my friends.
The office is very modern and kitted out in wooden floors with black and orange décor. They have touch screen computers on the wall that you can browse through and do specific searches on for properties.
They offer a huge range of properties for both students and professionals and the price range is pretty good.
I can’t help but get the feeling that all estate agents are out to trip you up and rinse you of as much money as possible and sadly, I did not feel any different with this company.
What I did like was that they arranged to pick us up from our current digs and drive us around the properties, then take us back again. I just felt that the people showing us around were extremely pushy and seemed to talk a lot of rubbish at times. I was also anoyed at the fact that I got pestering phone calls several times a day asking us if we had made our minds up about properties yet.
This, of course, had the opposite effect on us and we did not use Park Lane Properties. I’d recommend looking elsewhere too but the range of properties really is very good.
