Leeds Beckett Univeristy

Came for a look around on an interview day. Visited chemistry department which is very impressive. Nice location close to Leeds city centre.

I attended a part-​time language course (Spanish) at the Leslie Silver Institute on the Headingley campus. It was brilliantly taught and had a nice relaxed atmosphere with a good mix of people. The course was assessed throughout and we were all held to quite a high standard considering it was a beginners’ course, which is all to the good.
The library on this campus is great and the lending facilities are good even for part-​time students, with a ton of resources if you’re doing a language course — books, films, language tapes etc. I didn’t make as full use of these as I should have but still really appreciated that they were provided.
I will say the main (non-​Student Union) canteen closes rather early (and the staff seem keen to get rid of the mature and part-​time students littering up the place). Great cup of coffee though!

Ok University, one of the less unis in leeds with its focus more on sports and vocational degrees. Still, good place for gigs! Looks new and clean, so ye, good place!

Not reviewing this as an educational establishment, as I went to the other one up the road (I’ll not say ‘proper one’ as it tends to p*ss people off), but as a venue.
Came here to see Alphabeat last week, and it brought back lots of memories of drunken nights at Star and Polybop (sigh). Absolutely delighted that Red Stripe was served by the can (get in), and that the staff were as friendly and helpful as they used to be.
The venue itself ticks all the boxes, and is much better than the Refectory at Leeds University as far as I’m concerned. The balcony is awesome, so you feel like you’re a VIP, without having to be, and there’s enough room to bounce about without having people jumping on your toes, but it’s still cosy enough to feel intimate. Definitely the best for gigs out the two universities. Well done Leeds Met :)

At last we got to number one! Number one uni in Leeds we are! Woo! I studied Event Management here from 2000 to 2005 and loved my time at Leeds Met. Too many experiences to put into a short review, but if you are thinking of where to go and this is an option you will almost certainly enjoy your time in Leeds and value the sociability of Leeds Met uni.
Good quality halls of residence, two main campuses (one in town, one in suburbs), proactive student union shame that the students are not into the politics. I made great friends, enjoyed my course, found work here and loved Leedsso if you have the chance, do it!
I dont even expect a thank you, cos you will forget you read this months later when you have made friends and have coursework deadlines.

This is where I went to uni, and absolutely loved the place. You will really enjoy it if you manage to get on the Becketts Park campus which is just outside headingley, loads of good bars!!!
The courses available are wide and varied you name it they have something for you. This uni is split between the campus in the city centre and this one which looks like an american college in its location and the way its set out. HAve access to a massive library with a sports bar which is always full and ideal place to meet new people.
There are a number of places to choose to eat at, from the sports bar, to the canteens with a choice of different cultures. If you have to choose a halls to stay t=at then do all you can to get into Kirkstall Brewery, the atmoshphere is amazing and thats where you meet most people. So for a fun, actioned fillled place to get your degree definately suggest here.

I went to university here. It offers a massive range of courses and is really sociable. There are loads of social groups to join and sports clubs and it has a gym and pool that you can use at a good price.
If you go in to halls of residence I would recommend Sugarwell Court hands down!
