I don’t usually go in to Greggs if I can help it, but I guess I could say of all the major bakeries this would be my shop of choice.
They sell all the usual goodies — cakes, doughnuts, sausage rolls, pasties, sandwiches, drinks and so on. They are usually pretty cheap as well, with sausage rolls at 60p, if you are starving but trying to make sure you have enough bus fare, then that’s a pretty good option.
My favourite bit about this shop though is the staff. They are happy-​go-​lucky and friendly, which is more than I can say of the other Greggs stores that I have been in. The last time I wandered past the shop was empty and the girls behind the counter were having some kind of dance off, and when they noticed that I had spotted them, creased up in laughter.
Joy and cakes in Chapel Allerton! Makes it that little bit sweeter when you pop in for a bite.
