I decided to pop in here for another visitation as a friend’s birthday was coming up and it’s one of the more ideal places in Chapel A to go and pick an appropriately unique gift. Once again awestruck in wonder my beady magpie eyes went into overdrive at the hoards of gorgeous items on sale. As well as all the glittery jewellery mentioned in my previous review, I feel it necessary to mention a few other items in particular, as they were so cool. One being the divine Paua decorated mirror on the wall, coming in at a hefty £115(a little generous for a birthday gift!) but nonetheless gorgeous, and the other a series of glass jewellery items made exclusively from Bollinger Champagne bottle glass! Totally unique and cool. I went downstairs to re-familiarise with the other gifts and found the most perfect little bookmark made from gold metal with a hand made ceramic bead embellishment. There I also found a range of gorgeous arty gift cards and some unique glass detailed bottle tops to cork one’s wine with so they had to be purchased too. As I was being served the lady commented on my earrings, which I made, and so we got chatting about our magpie tendencies — I’ve probably found my match for hoarding and collecting pretty things as her shop is filled with all manner of beautiful things! To summarise — yet another lovely visit in the wonderful gift shop. The lady(who I’m assuming is the owner) is lovely and friendly, so I’m sure would offer some great advice, and even makes some of the jewellery in store herself. A real treasure trove of delight and worth noting if you’re stuck for a decent gift!

Oooooooooooooooooooh now this is purdy. I am a sucker for glass, in any form, be it stained glass windows, glass jewellery, glass art, glass sculpture, I’m a sucker and I love it. This is like walking into a glass haven. Bespoke jewellery, bracelets, earrings, brooches, rings, pendants, necklaces, all individually made, and totally unique, adding to the jewellery that quality whereby it’s something you’ve never seen before, with the classic and contemporary hybrid. Metals of choice seem to be rose gold and silver, and using glass with semi precious gemstones, just adds something beautiful and sparkly to the collections. Perfect for special gifts, and yes it’s on the pricey side, but for many of the pieces, they are wonderfully crafted and not likely to be seen elsewhere. Taking a stroll downt the staircase and you’re presented with handmade and crafted wood and glass hybrids or fusion pieces, some decorative and some practical, coffee tables, side tables, fire guards and displays, and even some rather beautiful kaleidoscopes. Fab!

A glittering treasure house of silver, pearls and gems of every size, shape and colour, this is my favourite kind of jewellery shop. The pieces are individual and unique, making a statement without being too ‘bling’, and the focus is on good quality stones elegantly displayed. They do their own range of charm bracelets that’s both prettier and cheaper than the branded ones that seem to be everywhere right now, and specialise in beautiful handmade glass pieces and quartzes of an unusually high quality. It’s not cheap, with much of the jewellery upwards of the £50 mark, but it’s a great shop if you’re looking for something a bit different, and nicely bridges the jewellery gap between modern and minimal and ornate and antique.
