I realised today that I’ve never had a bad lunch from Fatsos. It is exactly what you’d expect — cheap, no-nonsense food on the go. But everything I’ve had has been great. The jacket potatoes are hot, cooked all the way through and crispy on the outside; sandwiches are packed with proper Northern portions so they barely close; the salads are varied and huge and taste fresh. Best of all, everything is dirt-cheap. If you can stand the hectic queues and don’t mind that almost everything is glistening with fatty dressings or mayo, then Fatsos is definitely worth checking out when you need a quick, filling lunch to haul back go the office.

Having discovered this place about a week ago I have been back almost every day for lunch. For £2.49 you get a salad made in front of you which is obscenely big! I literally cannot finish them. Expect co-workers to make jokes about the size of your salad. The food is made right in front of you, and as far as I can tell the ingredients are very fresh. There is tons of choice for fillings and dressings, and they seem pretty happy to customise. The staff have also been really quick and efficient whenever I’ve been in there — it’s been fairly busy but I’ve been in and out in five minutes every time. Pretty impressive considering they are making everything to order! Initially the name put me off, but compared to the Greggs next door, this is pretty healthy stuff. They also do jacket potatoes and sandwiches, which I haven’t tried yet, but am told they are equally as good. So if you want a salad the size of a small child for not much money, go here!

Fatsos: epic in size(as you’d imagine) surprisingly cheap — especially with the meal deal. Super quick and friendly service. If your passing through town its a nice change from plastic packet supermarket fare and ingredient sparse pannini’s. Though i’ve been only once i see from the boards they serve salads as well. All in all for a first time luck upon a shop — Highly recommended(just watch the waistline!!)

Well, after weeks of walking past Fatsos, I was initially disdainful of the place due to it’s name, bright décor and the fact they had a man holding a sign stood outside. However, after many recommendations from colleagues I decided to try it out. These guys have got it SO right on the fast food sandwich front. There is none of your soggy, packaged, overpriced sarnies that the likes of nearby establishments offer. It is fresh, fast and sooooo filling. Loads of salad, much better value than say subway. And, AND it’s a mere £1.69. The choice is huge. If you steer away from the mayonnaise based fillings and refuse the butter it is possible to eat healhtily here. Did I mention they do jacket potatoes and salads too? Oh and the crisp of choice for fatsos is the king of crisps(in my opinion anyway), Seabrooks. Overall, excellent value without compromising on taste. It is no surprise that these guys are expanding quickly and the queues are out the door. The extremely efficient staff mean you won’t be waiting long though. Fun fact as well, former Apprentice contestant Rocky is the owner!
