Factory4

In association with Artsmix, Factory4 is a non profit studio space in Sheepscar.
Whether you are an artist, aspiring artist, art student, or just need to use a couple of the facilities, Factory4 really is fantastic. It is a fully equipped jewellery, woodwork and screenprinting workshop. They run workshops and mini courses, but the space can also be used on a ‘pay-​as-​you-​go’ basis. To use it, all they ask is for you to sign up for a years membership, and have an induction to the studio, in whichever discipline you fancy. Although this can cost £67.50, they often have cheeky almost half price offers. To use the studio is a fiver an hour, but they do deals on this too, just have a gander at the rates on their website.
Someone is always there to help you out, and offer their advice and opinions, and they are all skilled in their field. You bring your own materials, but they do have a (fairly limited) supply of acryllics for screenprinting, just in case, though beware, they cost more than they would if you go out and buy your own.
It’s a great resource, particularly for art graduates who no longer have access to their departmental facilities at uni!
