Despite its out of the way location, this place still gets 4 stars.
I’ll admit I’ve only visited a few times, but each time I have been satisfied.
Being a Sam Smith’s pub, the beer is not only cheap and tasty, it’s vegan. :)
The staff are lovely and are very welcoming. You’re lucky to have this in a pub nowadays. And this is a REAL pub. It’s nice and comfortable, and it had dominoes (a long side other board games)! (I got very excited about this when I was there.)
It also serves food, which I can’t comment on seeing as I haven’t actually ordered any. But if it’s as good as everything else in this pub, I’m sure it will be excellent.

Don’t be alarmed by the guilded statue of an eagle as you enter this pub, it’s just there to compliment the pubs name, not to scare you… honest.
Despite its drab location that is awkward to get to, The Eagle Tavern is a Sam Smiths pub for those of you who enjoy spending less than necessary when out drinking! It also has something that many pubs lack, brilliant warm and welcoming staff.
There is a tap room and lounge room to choose from, the lounge being more comfortable and cosy.
I think it is such a shame that the location scuppers people from visiting the Eagle Tavern. Its food is good, staff are brilliant, and it’s pretty kind of the wallet!
