Meh. For Leeds, I guess it’s not bad, but if you’re used to fresh ingredients which actually have taste, you’d better cook your own or move town. It feels like what it is. Cheap carbs in a shopping mall.

I was reticent to write a review for Crêpe Affaire, solely because it’s one of my little escapes in town and I didn’t want to give away one of Trinity Leeds’ best kept secrets! I’ve had the savoury crepes. They are really nice, full of fresh ingredients and flavour. Along with the excellent coffee, this makes for an ideal lunch, far healthier than many of the other options in Trinity Leeds. On the less healthy side, the deserts look very tasty indeed, and certainly seem to generate a lot of smiles for those receiving them. I have to add, I haven’t personally tried them. I’m a savoury rather than sweet person. Crêpe Affaire is situated nicely within Trinity, with a glass floor and with a big glass window looking out towards the railway station. One part of the glass floor has a lot of cracks in it, which makes me slightly nervous, so I don’t sit near there :) The staff have always been friendly, and I’m sure I will go back many more times.

Who doesn’t love a parcel of freshly heated chocolate spread and strawberries, all wrapped up in delicious pancake? If you’re one of those people, look away, cease reading, and turn the page. That’s what crêpe affair is all about — clue’s in the name. I’ve only been in the once, and this was a swift, brief visit, but it was a lasting one on the old grey cells. The chap serving was friendly and efficient, and the service was swift. I had a mediocre coffee, but this was made up for with the pancake action. Essentially, if you’re shopping and rushing about town, but need to up the blood-sugar levels stat, this is a top call. It’s quick, and it’s naughty, but it’s very tasty. There are savoury options, if memory serves, but who doesn’t want all the bad things in a crêpe? I definitely think nutella and strawberries is the way forward, maybe some bananas if you’re feeling super fruity. The space does have that ‘airport’ feel, mind — so it’s not exactly somewhere to hang out. It is somewhere for a tasty quick fix.

This place is quickly becoming a regular haunt– not good for the waistline but my goodness the crepes are good! My sister introduced me to Crêpe Affair, and we pop in during shopping trips regularly now. It’s in Trinity centre, not as obvious as other food places, but you are drawn in by the wonderful smells. You order at the till, and the staff make the crêpe right in front of your eyes(like they do on crêpe stalls at markets and stuff– no microwaves in sight!) and you can have sweet(I recommend strawberry and the banana and Nutella– yum!) or savoury, with plenty of vegetarian options. The price is reasonable for a city centre sweet tooth’s dream, and the coffees nice too! Check it out next time you’re passing! Pros: SOGOOD Lots of fillings, and you see the food made from fresh in front of you Savoury crepes, with plenty for veggies Student discount Cons: Seating always packed when it’s busy Occasionally there’s only been one person making the food and on the till one order at a time, so service can be slow. But it’s worth it ;)
