While hotel restaurants are not normally my choice when I’m looking for a place to have dinner, being extremely hungry and right across this one made me go inside and have a look. I had lovely juicy steak, which came with salad, chips, onion rings and mushrooms. Everything was absolutely delicious, however I could have definitely done with a bigger steak. Regardless, it was a good portion size so I left very satisfied with my meal. I also had the house red wine, which I enjoyed. In general it is a good place to go and it feels quite grown up and fancy, the way hotel bars and restaurants do. It’s probably a sign of me getting older but I would recommend visiting it.

This review is only for the restaurant. The food is of a very high standard and the staff are happy to have a laugh and make you feel comfortable. I have a food allergy and they were happy and able to accommodate me with a smile. The price are reasonable for what you get and they accept taste card for 241 on food. I would recommend this place so next time don’t just ask past it, go in.

My review is simply based on the rooms that desperately need upgrading. The windows could do with soundproofing as at 3am when you are trying to sleep you can hear everything from outside! For the cost of the room i would have expected a little larger than a box room with no space to stand let alone walk.

I went to the Cosmopolitan Hotel to use an afternoon tea voucher and so took my mum with me. I’ve never met a mum who doesn’t love afternoon tea! We were seated in a cold part of the restaurant at first but the waitress was really helpful and moved us to another table. The service generally was really good actually and we were made to feel very welcome. The afternoon tea itself was average but still nice. The sandwiches were freshly made, were filling and tasted good. There was cheese, tuna and chicken. The scones were lovely and although one of mine was undercooked, I was given a replacement — in fact she brought two back! SCORE! The champagne(and I had both glasses because my mum was driving — SCOREAGAIN!!) was very nice too! My only complaint and it wasn’t actually problematic for us, was that they brought out cake that had pistachios in it and although they did come back and ask if we had a nut allergy, it might have been a little late if we had. Nonetheless, we really enjoyed our afternoon tea. I’ve not eaten a meal itself at the Cosmopolitan but I’d definitely be happy to try it.
