Very nice food indeed. It allways tastes fresh and not warmed up like some places. You can order«trays» they have compartments and. Come with starter, main and side.

Having had the longest day in history(OK, exaggeration, but it was an immensely long day) my boyfriend and I decided that we simply couldn’t face cooking dinner on totally empty stomachs at 10pm at night. So, we decided on take-away. Normally we’d go for pizza or Thai, but we were feeling a little adventurous so we decided to look up Chinese take-aways on Unilocal. It’s my joy to report that having spotted all the grand reviews for China Jade we took a punt and it was just the job. I’m a creature of habit so I went for my usual(when I’m in Gloucestershire it’s what we always have) which is a Special Curry and Special Fried Rice. My boyfriend went for something slightly more adventurous and had a Japanese Bento Box. The whole order came to around £25, which was fine as we had ordered enough food for over three people! My dishes were beautiful and utterly packed with bits, there was no scrimping on the meat and it was all pretty delicious. To my boyfriend’s delight there was a lot of fish related items in my curry, which went straight on his plate as I’m not keen, and his Bento box was like a TV Dinner from the land of Plenty. He had a huge salad, breaded chicken slices, rice, little parcels of I-don’t-know-what(devoured before I got a look in!) and a pot of Miso soup. I was full after about half of of my dishes, as the curry also came with chips, so was decidedly sensible and left it after that. Of course, my boyfriend continued to pick at the food for the next few hours and felt overly full afterward, but we were utterly satisfied. Service was friendly and I thought the prices were really reasonable so I was really happy. Yum!

I recommend to all… find a friend that lives in or near Meanwood. Not normally a huge fan of Chinese food due to years of fancying an indulgence in Chinese cuisine and being let down massively I had almost given up hope. Hope was restored one lazy Thursday evening after a DVD day marathon and bare cupboards, my friends were contemplating eating out or ordering out. In our lazy stupor ordering out was the obvious answer and then came the issue of where. Boy friend chirps up with China Jade and Girl friend hoots in agreement. Second Boy friend hunts down a menu and on we went. Deciding to order a selection of beef, pork, duck and chicken with a combination of noodles and rice we had a proper beano on food when it arrived, and when we went to pay the bill it came to about £30 to feed five of us. Opening up all the food was a pleasant surprise too as it was still oven hot and we didn’t need to whack it in the oven for a second heat. Everyone tucked in with delight and it all went down very well, there wasn’t even any left for midnight snacksies. Twas awesome food, a real and true surprise in the hell that is finding decent and tasty chinese food. This is a true local legend, and it’s reputation does it justice.

I agree with Alexandra… I couldn’t find the energy to cook for myself as I had no food in and it was pouring out so obviously… going to the shops was not an option. Note that i’d just washed my hair… anyway. I ordered from here and got my usual ¼ crispy aromatic duck. The duck is usually pretty dried out and nasty when i order from leeds takeaways but I found that this one was perfect. A little crispy but yet not dried out enough to need to down a bottle of water in the process. The menu had loads of choices at good prices and I really liked how fast delivery was. The delivery guy was also really nice ad friendly. Top marks China Jade!

I think it is safe to say that China Jade has saved my life on more than one occasion. If you’ve ever spent the day rolling around in your pyjamas, too pathetically hungover to cook anything for yourself then you need China Jade in your life. I was sceptical at first after having some awful Chinese takeaway in Leeds before, but these guys know how to cook. After about a half an hour wait for preparation and delivery the food arrived, still amazingly hot. My char sui(roast pork) ginger and spring onion was so tasty! I couldn’t help but make ‘nyom nyom’ noises like a happily munching three year old and wiggling my feet. The meat was succulent and gorgeous and the combination of ginger and spring onion was just right. There is a huge amount of options to choose from with most dishes at around £5 each. They also do bento boxes at £8.30 for the days when you feel like you’re eating for two. Friends and I now choose China Jade as the best take away in Leeds. Please note: China Jade is a take away and not an ‘eat in’ restaurant.
