Despite my car being an ancient rust bucket, the mechanics at this garage were very encouraging. They dealt with the problem I took it in for and were able to identify the ‘funny rattle’ that I couldn’t work out. Apparently a lack of oil, which they topped up for me. ‘Take it fer a run t’coast’, they suggested one sunny spring weekend, which is exactly what I was doing. ‘It might be old but if you keep using it, it’ll last’. It was great to hear something positive from this garage rather than the usual suggestions that I should just buy a new one!
