It is a Japanese/Chinese restaurant run by an old Cantonese couple. The restaurant is near the bus station, so its really convenient if you take the bus from the university or wherever to the station(ok, to be honest, i took taxi most of the time in my 3 years stay in lancaster, cos the town is so tiny). I think the food are very pricey, they charged everything with ridiculously high price cos they know they are the only japanese restaurant in town. So not fair! They have tepanyaki and sushi stuff, taste is good but not that amazing for THAT price. The chiense dishes have smaller portion than other places but much more expensive. This place is always empty with a few customers, which makes me wonder how it managed to open for so many years?!! Anyways, it is a fun place to go if you want to experience the chef throwing a fried egg to your face, otherwise, go to the mung mee thai restaurant for a cozy and taste lunch/dinner!

My husband and I went here on our anniversary because I was craving sushi and didn’t know where else I could find some around here. We had no idea what to expect when we walked in. We were seated with other couples around a central grill. They weren’t people we’d come with. As we’d been hoping for more of a cozy and romantic dinner for two, we were a little disappointed at first. This was our error, though, not the restaurant’s. At the second grill, we could see some kind of party that had come together and they looked like they were having a blast, so we happily gave it a chance. I’m glad we did! When the chef came out to start cooking, he put on an amazing show, flipping the knives, standing eggs on end and chopping things lightning fast. At the second grill, the chef was flipping a bite at a time through the air into the open mouths of the diners, but nobody on our side was that adventurous. It was great to watch, though! The food was delicious and the portions were MASSIVE. I had still ordered sushi as a starter and it was great, but looking back at the size of the main dish, I could have done without it. If you’re looking for a quiet place for a date, I’d skip Miyabi, but it’s perfect if you’re feeling a bit adventurous or social, and I would take a group of people or a work outing here for dinner in a minute.
