I visited Lochinver in mid-July 2012 and was given the Caberfeidh as a recommendation when I got fuel in the village, in reality there are only 2 – 3 places to eat in the evening, but I wasn’t disappointed. There is a restaurant at the front and a bar/lounge at the back overlooking the river and loch which was very pleasant as the sun set. The menu showed a good range, including locally sourced ingredients. A selection of beers, proper real ale as well as fizzy keg(if you must), though I didn’t get as far as what looked like a good selection of malt whisky. All of this was at a good price, not burger flippin’ cheap but I certainly didn’t feel like I was paying over the odds at all. I can’t think of a reason why the Caberfeidh shouldn’t have 5 stars.
