I’ve not got much to compare it to but they were friendly on the phone and came out within 2 hours to swap the locks on my new flat. The guy who came out(sorry I’ve forgotten his name) gave good advice on security and the best options for the door. He then quickly swapped the locks and fitted a new bit in the door frame. Very simple and easy to deal with. It was £140 to fit two new locks and supply two sets of keys with them. Payment is either in cash or by cheque upon completion.

I locked myself out my flat at 11pm at night. Yep. First time for everything. I live alone, no one has a spare set of my keys, and so it’s the first time I’ve had to call a locksmith. I stayed with a friend and called for a quote at 8am the next morning. 11pm at night it’s £95 call out, 8.30am in the morning it’s £50. A big difference and doesn’t sting as much. The guy on the phone was no-nonsense but friendly. He told me he was dropping his kids off at school and would be there in 30 — 45 minutes. And he was. He had a very personable easy-going manner, a little direct with his jokes which I don’t mind at all, just very easy going. I was surprised at how easy it is to open a lock(!) but within less than a minute he’d opened my door and I was in! £50 lighter but ending my 12-hour stint of being homeless. He had 24-emergency service on his website which is why I went with him, and he was true to his word. Seems like he would have come out at 11.30pm and was happy to zip straight over after the school run. A great personal-run business, and I would use again… although let’s hope that never happens! I’m wearing my keys around my neck from now on…
