Naaah! Office shoes look great but I’ve only ever had trouble with this place and from talking to friends it seems I’m not the only one. Office stock lots of great brands — Havaiana, Converse etc. but the Office brand itself, for me, falls way below par. Pumps that fall apart on first wear, sandals with such soft leather on the sole that it wears away within days, heels coming off altogether. They’re just not very well made shoes. And the thing that bugs me most is they will not listen when you try and return the shoe. I stopped shopping here a while ago but I have a friend with a hilarious story last Autumn. When taking back a pair of boots that had fallen apart within a couple of wears she was told by the sales girl ‘It’s a fashion boot, it’s not supposed to be worn much’…what?! Brilliant! There are two things my dad always says not to cheap out on — your shoes and your mattress, because if you’re not sleeping you’re on your feet. I love that saying! I would rather spend my money elsewhere for quality shoes… and to be honest Office isn’t even that cheap anyway.

A fairly small branch of the shoe chain that features — perennially — on fashionistas’ favourite-lists. There’s plenty packed-in to the compact space so that most preferences are catered for. Ever popular, it gets very busy(don’t be surprised if you have to dodge pushchairs and enthusiastic footwear foragers) but there are display and seating areas for men on one side and women on the other. The most up-to-date trainers line-up alongside trad’ styles; ballet pumps, brogues, sandals, boots and precarious heels all vie for your attention. Sale time is especially tempting; if you’re at either end of the shoe-size spectrum, you’re likely to find some major bargains. Not the best place to shop when you’re pressed for time or don’t have patience amongst the crowds.
