While on holiday in this area we visited Bigbury on sea. The Pilchard inn is on a little island that is cut off when the tide comes in. A really sunny day at the end of May, the kids were off school and lots of people around Potential Customers… What a joke this place is, a worn out seating area outside, glasses left all over the place not collected. Lunch time and this place had No food at all, Sold out we were told. A sign outside the Bar telling everyone that it was for local residents only, or hotel guests. Obviously the Pilchard inn doesn’t want customers, at least not if their tourists, there was No kind of welcome atmosphere all all. Well fine by me, as a tourist I have hard earned money to spend. But not to support the local economy around this place. My advice to anyone thinking of going here. Don’t bother.
