The WORST customer service. Seriously, to hell with them. Yes, I am that angry. Am kind of accustomed to bike people being a bit snobbish, but have never encountered a business that flat-out lies to customers – and then doubles down on the lies by insulting their intelligence. I mean bald-faced lies about fundamental equipment, like woolen jerseys and the stated pressure of a tire pump. There are a lot of choices for bike gear. ProBikeKit is far and away the worst. Stay away. Tell your friends.

ProBikeKit USA is an online website that is part of the Hut Group, which are a large and growing online retail platform for clothing an health products based in the UK. I’ve used them a couple of times more than I should have(each time tempted by their discounted pricing) and the experience have been consistently unsatisfactory. Yes, I get the product at the stated price(I’ve not yet had US Customs issues, although this is a potential for any overseas shipment), however the logistics, communications and shipping side of the operation is awful. They never ship within the stated time frame(for in-stock 24 hours) and it can be over a week before things actually ship. If you try and ask questions, you’ll get a lot of automated responses or a ‘human’ with a canned response that isn’t helpful. The shipping itself is with ‘unusual’(for those of us in the US) carriers and is not quick — far from it. Expect 3 – 6 weeks from order. I have thankfully not had to do a return, I can only imagine this would be torturous. On balance, order with these guys is not worth it. If you need to order from the UK/EU(some items are only available there) I’d suggest Wiggle if you must. Otherwise, use a decent US retailer like Competitive Cyclist, Chain Reaction, Colorado Cyclist, etc… where you’ll get good customer support.

I placed my order ~6 weeks ago and it still has not arrived. My issues with this company started right after I placed my order. I placed my order on «Pro Bike Kit USA» only to realize that the company was not in the US at all and the free shipping they promised did not apply to me b/c the shipping was international. Within 30 minutes of placing my order on a Sunday, I wrote them an email requesting a cancellation. The next day, they said they could not cancel my order because it had already been dispatched which shows that they have very poor control over their shipping. I resigned myself to being doped out of the $ 20 shipping and forced to wait for my order to make it from the UK. Fast forward to today, the package still hasn’t arrived. I am reporting them to my credit card company as a fraudulent charge. Maybe if you are in the UK they are reasonable but if you’re in the US, I would STRONGLY recommend take your business elsewhere.

I have used PBK many times with mixed results. They have the best stated prices on the internet, most of the time. Shipping times vary from 1 week to 6 weeks. This last time I ordered several items at what I thought was a great rate, only to be forced to pay more than 10% extra in customs charges to release the items. This charge was levied upon arrival in the US, after the order was paid for and after it was too late to send back. 10% in customs charges changes the math significantly. And the potentially long wait for arrival of my stuff puts me off of PBK forever.
