Don’t go here if you hate reasonably-priced alcohol. Don’t waste your time if the thought of friendly staff turns your stomach. I wouldn’t even dream of recommending this pub to you if you detest gorgeous river views, wildlife spotting and boats drifting on the water. If you are not looking for one of the best views from a pub in London, go somewhere else.

We LOVE it. Sam Smith make our favorite beer: Pure Brewed Lager. Along with a Yorkshire Rose and great food, this pub is the perfect quiet riverside location. Sam Smith brewery pubs are unique in that they don’t play music so the atmosphere does not depend on whether management of the day are into Techno or Reggae n Soul. It is a classic beautiful pub, with typical ornate dark wood furniture, large booths, red leather sofas, carpeted coziness, fireplace, different alcoves and sub-divided rooms(I am not sure why the other review said it didn’t have this — maybe they only visited the downstairs wood floor bar that day?) It has an upstairs and a downstairs. Sometimes the large pub is open upstairs, sometimes the smaller riverside walk bar downstairs. Or when it is busy(or they have more staff?) — both. You can relax outside on the wood veranda by the river too. All in all, we love the variety of drinks(including their own brand Diet Bitter Lemon) and the lovely views. Very relaxing — we had our engagement party here.

The Town Wharf is not your typical Sam Smith’s pub: no ornate interiors or the division of the pub into different areas. Instead, it consists of a rather traditional, working-man-club chic interior and seating outside in the shade. But the food and drink is as dependable as ever, making it one of the better pubs on this stretch of river.

The Town Wharf overlooks the Thames and you can see The London Apprentice up the river. If you follow the Thames Path in Isleworth you are bound to find this place The pub/bar is a good looking place split over 2 floors with 2 bars. Quite often only one is open(the upstairs). Both bars tend to open when busier and in the evening Be aware the pub is part of the Samuel Smiths brewery. So don’t expect the usual names. But do expect cheap prices. A friend and I bought 2 pints of SS for almost the same cost as an OJ and Lemonade. Large outside area to soak up the sun and enjoy the view. Walking distance(1 mile or so) from Twickenham Rugby Ground if you fancy a drink after a game
