such a pleasant surprise find on our trip to Skye. this extremely low-key place has a pretty simple menu but seafood that is incredibly fresh! the best value was probably the half lobster with chips, which tasted amazing(albeit cold, not a warm dish). I saw some people get the crab claws, and i had to go back for more — they look like stone crab claws(which i love!) but were more meaty and had a paler color to the shells. so good! if you are going to carbost or the fairy pools, make a pit stop here to get a meal!

If you like oysters then this place is well worth the detour and visit. The guy who owns this place apparently is the only oyster farmer in Skye and one of 6 or 7 in Scotland. Everything comes from his farm and he also sells a bunch of locally sources meats and seafood. I had a dozen oysters shucked right in front of me by the owner and it was delicious. It had been picked that morning from the sea. Nothing like eating fresh oysters and you could tell this was the case. One of the best oysters I have ever had. I wish I lived next door to this place :-) I might die a happy man ;-))

We discovered this place by walking out of the Taliskar distillery and looking at a sign attached to a fence. It’s less than a mile up the hill in a shed. When we visited there was a tour group arriving and so there was a little wait, but after they left the place was empty. The owner/server was very helpful and friendly. We talked about his oyster farm and how he got into the business. He sells oysters raw and will shuck them for you for a fee. They were delicious and only a pound each shucked. He also sells beverages, cheeses, crackers, and a few other Scottish delicacies. We had the whiskey cheddar from the Isle of Arran. It was a great, light lunch.
