Cheap and cheerful. Good food and drinks aren’t overpriced. Some staff members could use an attitude adjustment but overall the atmosphere is always pleasing and it’s a great place to have a get together.

Curry nights on Wednesday were once a hit. The quality of food has certainly decreased over the years. On other days its just like any other weatherspoon pub. Nothing great. If you want to have a curry try Zaika. If you fancy Sunday roast then try the badgers pub in Martlesham. If you are in the town center and want a cheap quality meal with beer then this is your place.

Pretty typical Weatherspoons. Would not have ventured in but Ipswich is a bit of a beer desert. Its a big place but pubs few and far between. Stiil it W to the rescue and guess what thats where you find the Ipswich folk too.

Ok food, nice seating area outside, decent beer selection but service primitive. I’ve visited this pub several times and whilst the food is ok and the beer selection decent, the atmosphere is ‘localised’. On one occasion during my university days, a senior staff manager refused to serve me a tuna baguette one afternoon because he wouldn’t accept my student ID. My friend then ordered the food on my behalf using his driving licence ID and the individual begrudgingly processed the order. Despite serving all other customers’ food himself, the individual delegated the students’ order to his colleague. What a fiasco just for a baguette and we didn’t even enquire about ordering a beer. Certainly if your face doesn’t fit then staff can be awkward, but especially in a ‘close-knit’ town like Ipswich where competition is limited. Any restaurant which treats its customers with such contempt in London won’t last long in the current economic climate!

Nice place. Wetherspoons pub so of course it’s all the same menus etc, but it’s pretty cheap and has a nice atmosphere it feels like a proper pub which is something you don’t get with all wetherspoons. The interior is nice too, and the walls are decorated with historical photos and info of Ipswich. Quite authentic. Service generally good, have to wait a little while to be seen to though. Beer garden a superb feature, but if it’s a sunny day be sure to ask for an ETA. My food’s taken almost 40 minutes on a sunny day where it would normally take 2 – 5. Just shows how the sun brings everyone out. Overall a nice little place which doesn’t feel so much like a chain pub a good choice.

Been coming here for years. Nice large pub with thr cheapest drinks in town. Decent enough food, usual menu but good value. Beer garden useful in the summer. Can get packed at the weekend and getting served then can be trying. Perfect place for drinks during the afternoon though.

The Crickters pub is in the centre of Ipswich town, it is just outside the main bus depot in town. This is a great pub/restuarant, that is great for familys as well as a night out. If you are on a night out this is a good cheap place to grab some drinks from first before heading on to a club, there is a large bear garden and plenty of seats within. If on a family meal outing this is great as they have a constant 2 for 1 offer with loads of things included in it. They also have specail meal days with new and exciting offers on, including a great big massive curry feast. The toilets are upstairs but are in good condition for pub toilets. The staff are all friendly, they are normally very busy so don’t have to much time to chat, but if they do they are more then happy to. Great food, Great prices.
