I do like this place for a number of reasons. Firstly the staff are great which is always helpful and are quite chatty. I believe its family run, and, the guy whom I can only assume is the Dad, always takes time to banter with my parents in Hindi no less, which they appreciate, and find amusing. The food is good, a decent(yeah i know thats a stupid adjective) indo-chinese mix and a high amount of variety for the Veggies in the group(ie pretty much everyone!). Its also not too expensive(cant give you an amount cos my father-in-law paid — wooh!!), and you cant go wrong with reasonably priced beers :) The service is bare quick(yep, I said ‘bare’, but its East London so Im allowed), and this place is always quite busy, so bookings for large groups may be a good idea. The deep-fried food was a bit too deep fried/greasy for me so I stayed away from some of the aubergine stuff my wife talks about in her review. Would I come back? Already have :)

This place does get rammed! Their aubergine(deep fried) dish is *awesome* and the spice in the chilli paneer is just right. Manchurian and mushrooms are just ok. I think the noodles are kinda boring but the veggie rice was surprisingly good. Service is fast and the food is good value. Perfect for a family meal — but it does get pretty rowdy. Not the best food in the world, but good for a casual meal. Friendly peeps too :)

Pros We are avid chinese food lovers and absolutely love yeng lin. They have excellent tasty food that you cannot get in any of the other chinese restaurants or take aways. The food is especially nice and they use differet sauces and ways of cooking that makes it an exception treat. All in all if you want to eat in or take away — you cannot go wrong with it. Cons Most of times it is very busy and there are chances you wont get a table if you dont book before. The parking is also a bit of a challenge as there is no ready car park available. That is the only downside.

By far the best Chinese I’ve had! The perfect restaurant for a family-dine on a Saturday evening or even just a bunch of good friends getting together for a catch up. Yen Lin has impeccable food; my favourites being the manchurian chicken and dry fish –YUM, not to mention the prawns in blackbean sauce — OH! Divine! The service is always brilliant(especially considering they know all 5 members of my family on a first-name basis!) and so quick — you order and literally within minutes, it’s right there in front of you! Being the most popular Chinese joint in the local area, I recommend that you get a booking as it does tend to get quite packed in the evenings during the weekend-period. They’re closed on Tuesdays but Wednesday — Monday they’re open until 11ish. Parking is unfortunately terrible as it’s located on the main road — not too far from Goodmayes overground station. I recommend you use the side street for parking [the one by Blockbusters — always a few parking bays available there ;) ] Go, Eat, Enjoy, be Merry!
