This place must qualify as one of those hidden gems, and a great antidote to phoney chain brand café culture.
Zoo café has a community café feel to it and a friendly, informal atmosphere. I enjoyed a proper, tasty cappuccino and a giant homemade scone. The rest of the menu looks interesting and comes with positive endorsements.
Relaxing, welcoming, and definitely worth a visit.

Zoo Café is fantastic. Great prices and delicious food. As a vegetarian café there are still plenty of vegan options. The bangers and mash is divine (and very filling) and the burger is amazing (ask for the vegan option without mayonnaise).
If you just fancy a drink they are very reasonably priced and you could spend all day there drinking juices chatting with friends or reading a book.
It is family friendly with plenty of toys for kids in a safe environment.
Highly recommend.

zoo café is a nice little place to get vegan and vegetarian food or just a hot or cold drink. the staff are welcoming and its a good place to take the grand children as they always have some toys and colouring and stuff. the décor leaves a bit to be desired, its not very cosy as its very open plan onto the street so always a bit chilly. kind of reminds me of a school dining hall!

The zoo café is a lovely vegetarian and vegan café in Hull. Its down a little side street off Newland Avenue. It is very friendly and cosy, and they have beautiful art all over the place. The food is more snack food than meals, so dont go there is youre really hungry, you’d have to eat a lot of cake!

Zoo is an great place to eat or drink, the staff are very friendly and the food and drink is always good and reasonably priced, best of all it is all vegetarian or vegan.
