China Red Coach & Horses

Made a quick visit to China Red, my 1^st time, several people had informed it was a good chinese.
Must say i fully agree, greeted at the reception, served drinks and allocated a table all within 10 minutes. The food was served by 2 very polite staff and every dish was tasty.
if you like chinese food at areasonable price, try this place, i will visit again in the future

We have visited this restaurant many, many times the service is good nice and friendly can be a tad rushed on weekends (obviously very busy place) the food is top notch and plentiful you can even get a doggy box if needed. The staff are very attentive and helpful even great with the kids !! their banquets are fantastic with plenty of choice and the food is brilliant …

Just read some of the rubbish comments on china red! My family and I dine here a lot and having been to many chinese restaurants in and around hull, this place is BY FAR our favourite! The food is consistently excellent and the service is second to none! Great atmosphere, lively music and our kids love it too. They have a lunch special that I recommend to friends and they also do take outs! Great stuff! You really should book a table in advance as they do get very busy.

Food was OK, usual chinese fare, served nice and hot but a bit tasteless. But the staff were inattentive, the lager was warm, they didnt have 2 of the wines we requested, and at the end of the meal they hurried us out, not because they needed the table, but because they wanted to get tiedied up. they opened the windows and doors wide and froze us out.
Very rude and not at all ‘customer friendly”

I have now visited twice on visits to Hull with my family. Service was great if a little hurried at the end due to them wanting the table for more customers (it was very busy)
My rating for the food both quality, price and quantity would be 5* but because of the rush at the end overall can only give 4*

The lunch deals are the best thing about this restaurant, good value but still enough choice to satisfy all the family. The starters are not large, but the main meals on the set menu are a very good size, so you won’t go away hungry.
Try the Chicken Satay Starter it is by far the best on the lunchtime set menu and not overly spiced so will appeal to all the family. I would strongly recommend China Red for an everyday family lunch out, but the evening dinner menus are not as good value for money, particularly in Hull, where there is stiff competition for customers.
If children or other members of your family are not too keen on Chinese food then the chicken omlette is packed full of meat and well cooked. There are vegetarian options on the set menu, but a limited choice.
The lunch time service is fast and we have always found the members of staff to be friendly and helpful. The premises have always been clean, warm and the staff very welcoming and accommodating particularly with babes in arms and people with disabilities.
It is particularly easy to take people with mobility problems where they need to use a walking stick to this restaurant as there is only one step at the front, which slopes down at the far end and there is plenty of on site parking.

not a cheap family meal but worth the price for the quality of the food very nice to sit and chill out in an out of town environment, seems very village pub to me but with the added pleasure of chinese food, worth a try.

Lovely out of the way chinese food place. Book well in advance over festive period as you may not get a table. Been here twice & both times had excellent service etc. Plenty of food each time, we did a share on the meals which turned out great as we all got huge helpings & saved missing out in fav tastes. They are always on hand if you need anything. They also do take out’s which when i stay over in town i often get which taste just as good as inside. Definately worth going here

I’m not a big fan of chinese food but this place is very good. In a former pub they make good use of the space. Nice buzzy atmosphere and great service. They do takeout too.

Love the food here, service is good, sometimes a little too overpowering as they do tend to stand over you, the best thing to do is to book for the later seating as if you go for the first seating they tend to rush you out.
Defo try the hot mixed starter mmmmm

When I visited here I was unimpressed with the standard of food and even less with the head waitress, fortunatley the situation was resolved by the manageress who knew how to conduct herself and we left satisfied with the outcome.
