Browns Books

Small and overpriced bookshop, suffering from the competition from the much bigger Waterstone’s just down the road.
Very good if you’re a student or in academia, but not recommended for the general public.

A tiny little book shop where you can only nip in and order what you want. They have a fast turnaround and will get your books in quick, not so good though if you’d like to flick through first. Still recommend over Waterstone’s though.

This shop is situated on a main street in the town and therefore parking is limited to road side bays, however the shop has entrances on two of the main roads so parking is effectivly douubled without having a long distance to walk. Depending on which entrance you use determines which departments you come across first but coming in the main entrance you enter into a large clean store with clearly marked areas of fiction, non fiction etc. from the main area you can access the upstairs deparment where most of the text books and course work books are kept.
Back downstairs and towards the back of the shop is the childrens section and local maps etc this is also where the rear entrance is.
I have always found this shop to be reasonable priced and the staff to be very helpful
