Never have I known a salon so pretentious. I mean really? Really!!! How much can one set of stylists believe their own hype. With a collective full of hairdressers or stylists or whatever the buzz word is to call a person in the hair erm industry these days is, I understand the rigorous training and academies these stylist folk have to go through in order to become part of the Toni and Guy brand. But really. I think once they get in something takes over and what once lay in the rational and customer care part of the brain is replaced with the gossip over inflated ego gene. Actually this is a little harsh, there are some serious staff rotations in salons like this, be they sticking in the one salon or moving across a specific area, but on my particular occasion, a friend asked me to go in with her whilst she go in for a correction, a correction for a first ditch effort that cost £150 for a cut and colour, which is fine if that’s what you want to pay, but that it had to be corrected just tells me the money shouldn’t have been taken in the first place. Offering her a cup of tea or coffee or even a glass of wine didn’t really make up for this fact, and hearing the guy in hyper bitch over drive narking on about customers really didn’t help the issue either. The place just screamed unprofessional. The second attempt wasn’t much better, it just took the piss poor off and left it with just poor. There was another full blown screaming match between bitchyman and a colleague in the front window which was mortifying and amusing in equal measure for all surrounding. Clearly these guys have a reputation to uphold and one hopes that other Toni and Guy salons around the country are much better than this hell hole. But avoid this one like the plague, I haven’t known a single person come out with a decent do that they are pleased with, well in terms of money for style ratio at least.
