I have been here on a number of occassions and to be honest it has been trial and error, having said that, they seem to of got it right, the food is good, now, and the staff are very pleasant.

bland food, bland menu, overpriced, no taste to the food, never go again

This restuarant /​wine bar/​pub chain type establishement has the ideal setting right on the canal, with pretty canal boats moored along its well designed outdoor facilities, used to serve fanstastic food, infact we would eat there weekly, but sadly along with the new table table rebrand came a new greasier, poorer quality, less enjoyable menu. The porions decreased and the quality reduced. On the positive the décor is clean, warm and inviting with lots of cosy little nooks and warming fires– just the thing in yorkshire in the winter. The atmostphere is positive and family frinedly, with a respectable clientele and I have to say the staff are extremely attentive and well trained– can’t fault them at all. Now if the food could just ditch the brewery fanchise fayre with their disgusting grease drenched 1980’s deep fried breaded mushrooms and boring scampi and chips, from ye olde pub grub days and start catering for the more healthier food conscoious pallet of todays modern diners I think thy would have a winning formula.

This establishment has had more names and owners in its time than i have had hot dinners. Right alongside the canal its a beautiful place to sit in summer. inside the décor is clean and light and the menu, whilst not being very good for vegetarians is quite good. Sometimes the food can be cold as though it has been sat around a while. nice for a quick bite but not for special occasions
