It was my mums 82nd birthday last week, She didn’t want a fuss with candles and balloons, so I said why don’t we go the Golcar Lilly again ?
My mums a bit of a funny eater, No butter on Veg and Doesn’t eat meat are just two of them. All the staff said hello and made everyone feel welcome (My mum, wife, 2 year old daughter and me). We had booked for a time of 6.30pm but wern’t hurried by any of the staff. The food is always nice and plentiful even to the point the next day when i put my jeans on the top button popped off. (Must have had poor stitching). If you want Mc Dononalds prices then this is not the place for you, neither is the food.
They also have a function room for parties and if you get lucky enough to get an invite go because the hot Beef Sop supper or the home made meat and potato pie is one of the best you’ll ever taste.

Very pleasant country eating house. The building is a converted mill and the setting is superb with a beautiful view looking back at the village of Golcar. Choice of three Real Ales (if a little pricey) balanced by good quality, good value food. Food can be ordered for the well appointed restaurant or less formally in the comfortable bar area. There is also a function room below for weddings and other private functions. Well worth finding. Why not try the Colne Valley circular walk (15 miles) and work up a thirst!
