Booked a room here through one of the last minute rooms site and had low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised! The room was large, with a four-poster bed, a couple of club chairs, a little Juliet balcony, a sofa, and a very modern en suite bathroom with power shower AND tub. The bed was very firm, and the pillows were foam(great for me, with my down allergy). I wouldn’t recommend it for people who are very sensitive to noise, though, as the windows were single pane and you could hear the street below. Granted, by London standards, it was practically silent ;). For two nights(Friday and Saturday), we paid £300 for a last minute booking on a hot, sunny weekend. The hotel is a 5 – 10 minute walk from the beaches, and around the corner from fantastic restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly, and lovely to interact with. The other residents were either very quiet or the walls are nice and thick, because I never heard them from my room. The room itself was very nice — lots of light, space, and comforts. My only gripes were minor — the toilet paper and tissues were single ply and kind of useless. They must run through so much that it would surely be cheaper to buy double ply decent stuff! Ah well, first world pain. Would happily stay there again and highly recommend it to other couples looking for a weekend getaway in Brighton & Hove.
