Wycombe Swan Theatre

When I lived in High Wycombe I went to the Swan a few times. They show a range of shows including comedians, musicals and other events too (I once had a job interview there to work for a local retailer.) I am also attending my graduation there so it really is a great space that can be used for loads of things. Clean and well kept building too.

Wycombe Swan is my favourite theatre, and because of my work, I have been fortunate enough to have visited an awful lot of them. So I can safely say that you will be hard pressed to find better. Of course it favours some productions but that is a typical problem faced by regional theatres. They have to try and adapt weekly in line with a varied programme to keep customers going through the doors –and here they do it very well.
The quality of the productions is often up to West End but even if it isn’t exactly you can still get to enjoy your visit because of the very comfortable surroundings. A very unusual situation in my experience. Access is great with parking literally attached to the building or arriving by train just a short walk from the station down the hill. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs nearby for those early birds who fancy a meal before their show. It’s also worth remembering that the theatre itself has a cafeteria service and two bars with plenty of space and if you book, on some shows they offer a very good pre-​show meal in the adjoining Oak rooms. Well worth asking and prices are very reasonable. Talking of price tickets too are pretty good value and if this year’s panto was anything to go by, they are not afraid to try something different with some excellent 3D effects.
Once inside the building the stalls entrance is at ground level but if you prefer the circle areas and don’t fancy the stairs, there’s a lift! How cool is that? Bar prices are good about the same as your local although chocolates are probably best bought with you.
So if you would like to try a theatre visit that offers a bit of comfort as well as some fine productions look out the Swan programme and get along for a visit.

This is a lovely, modern, accessible venue with a large variety of acts and events at a reasonable cost. Many touring West End shows including Chicago, Footloose, Flashdance, Blood Brothers etc. have appeared here as well as being a popular venue for local amateur groups — it’s even a licenced wedding venue!!! Well worth a visit!

It’s so nice to have a theatre that is so local. The Wycombe Swan is great venue for an afternoon or night out. They have a great range of shows throughout the year from ballets, pantomines, dance, comedy, musicals. The Christmas pantomime is always a great night out on the run up to Christmas or between Christmas and New Year. Tickets are usually fairly reasonable, with discount for students & consessions. It’s always clean and tidy and I’ve never been disappointed yet! Would definitely recommend.

How did we ever manage without a theatre in our town? For a small building they certainly manage to pack a lot in. I have been going here for many years and have never been disappointed. There are so many different types of show to see, from ballet, plays, musicals and pantomines, a lot of shows which have been on in the west end, make their way to Wycombe Swan.

The Wycombe Swan and Town Hall are great venues for all different types of shows. They have musicals, plays, comedy acts and a pantomime every year.
The Hellfire comedy club held at the Town Hall is especially good. At only £9 for 3 comedians it is excellent value and the food and drink on sale is also very reasonable.
The ticket prices are generally very good and whilst the booking fees are relatively low you can avoid them by going to the box office and buying your tickets there. They are open 6 days a week until 8pm so it’s quite easy to find a convenient time to drop in.
