After a walk in the forest this a great place for refreshments, look out for the green hut. Can get busy at weekends, but the staff work very fast and you don’t usually have to wait long. Closed Mondays but open on bank holidays.

Such a great spot on the edge of Epping Forest!
The distinctive green hut has been here forever, serving tea, coffee, sandwiches, cakes and snacks; the weekends in particular see large crowds of road cyclists and mountain bikers. It’s nice to see the area has just been updated with more parking, a better road surface and solid wooden benches.
Happily, it’s open every day except Mondays (Carl needs a day off!) and all year round.
