I ordered the ribs and Cantonese duck from here and the food was just awful. The bbq ribs were terribly dry and the duck was dry as well and served on an old yellow salad. I brought the uneaten food back to the restaurant as I had ordered it as take away to return it and ask for my money back as it was simply not a standard I would eat. The guy apologized but refused to refund my money so I just left it there since it was of no use to me. Terrible over priced food and a waste of my money.

My second venture into Chinese cuisine in the UK and it failed again. Maybe it has something to do with UK prices being SO astronomical(4 pieces of Har Gow was the equivalent of $ 5.75CAN — more than double what I pay at home). Dim Sum was passable, but Sang’s only had possibly 3 – 4 choices, I believe. I asked for a sort of hot sauce for the Har Gow and being helpful(or confused at my request), staff brough out oil w/ground chilis, a sticky sweet/chili pepper dip and a sriracha-type sauce. Green Onion cakes were the right batter, but deep fried into what looked like industrial onion rings that challenged a few teeth to get through. I personally ordered the Mongolian beef dish(*no dishes come with vegetable or rice) and it was… not good. Monoglian dishes usually have quite simple spices, but this was oyster sauce, corn starch and possibly ginger or garlic — none of which were plentiful. The rest of the group suffered the same fate as my dish — bland, thick-sauced dishes with no whiff of veggies. My gran’s shrimp dish had shrimp the size of my fist, however. Staff were attentive and eager to help us out, so the food had no reflection on what they did. Helpful staff are the only reason I would give this place more than ½ a star.
