Very nice pub and restaurant. Great kids area downstairs and restaurant area upstairs. Food is reasonably priced and service is always prompt. Agree with the earlier review that kids could be kept downstairs but in alll honesty have never had a problem with unruly kids there.

10th Nov.2009, My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay at Home Farm(have stayed here many times over the last fifteen years) and as usual the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the carling lager kept beautifully. However on the first night my meal in the restaurant was terrible(the wife, s was fine). This is the very first time I, ve had to complain but the staff were great, very appologetic, and could, n, t do enough. The next evening the drinks and the meal were on the house and this time the food was excellent! Full marks Home Farm! and thanks. Geoff. Saltburn-by-sea, N.Yorks.

This place used to be ok to come to for a quick no frills meal. That was when they kept the families downstairs in their special kids area. Now they let them run all over, round the bar, in the main restaurant, the whole place is some Charlie Chalk fun factory of kids, cola and parties. If you are an adult wanting to go out with other adults for a quiet drink or some food avoid this place.

This is a large food pub, part of the Brewster chain and with a Premier Travel Inn attached. Despites its indentikit rustic appearance, it is comfortable if you are just drinking(although there’s rather too much Sky TV for my liking) and if you are eating there are plenty of tables. The food is OK, if a little variable in its quality and not that cheap. Service is good. The beer is mainly lager but there is occasionally a guest real ale(at the time of writing this is Black Sheep) which is well-kept.
