We were driving down to Cornwall from London, about 2 hours into what became a 7 hour journey and the car started making the most horrendous sound. Of course all sorts of horrible images flashed through my mind, firstly involving death on the motorway and then second an expensive or impossible repair. Fortunately we managed to make it to our destination, the lovely town of Coverack, in one piece. This garage was recommend to us by someone living in the village and at first I was sceptical. It really doesn’t look like much. I wasn’t even sure they would be able to fix whatever the problem was as the only sign I could see was about tyres. We dropped in to see if they would look at the car and were booked in for the next morning. I dropped it off first thing and I had new break pads and disks fitted by lunchtime. Whilst I was waiting for my lift back into town the car was already up with the wheel off and I got a pretty comprehensive lesson as well as explanation of what the fault was, a service I have never heard of anywhere else. Far from the cliché intimidation everyone I spoke to was really friendly. I went for a drive with the mechanic, chatted to the man in the office who introduced me to his dog specially as we are both called Rosie and as I already said a murk free explanation of what happened. All in it cost me about £200, I have no idea whether that is reasonable but in the space of a few hours I was completely relieved of worry and able to enjoy the rest of our holiday.
