The café is ok there however the restaurant was a big disappointment. The menu was not particularly interesting and the food was overpriced. The«beef» for 23£ was effectively a pub styled roast beef, it wasn’t medium rare however it overcooked and cold. Service was super slow and at some point non existent.

Our visit to Incanto was long overdue, having seen it online a few years ago(try four), I had been trying to make plans to go with my then boyfriend turned fiancé turned husband. After arriving to London after just being married and becoming a brand new resident of England, we decided we’d hit Incanto for lunch to celebrate just because. Incanto is located in the peaceful and(in my opinion) lovely Harrow on the Hill, not far from the famed school. It’s got a very quaint type of café in the front where you can have a coffee or purchase some cheeses or meats to take home or enjoy with some company. Once you walk past that small area, however, you walk into a very calm dining room which is very thoughtfully decorated. We were seated promptly by our server who we realized later was the owner of the restaurant. Being vegetarians and having looked over the menu several times before coming, we knew vegetarian options would be slim. We ordered soup to start and nibbled on the beautiful bread provided — I suspect it was all baked in house(which I certainly hope) as it was a selection of artisan breads perfect to start our meal. We ordered the one vegetarian dish on the menu(a cannelloni) and waited for it to arrive while making occasional conversation with the owner who was extremely hospitable, friendly and social — a very good host. As there was only one other couple dining there that day for lunch, it was almost like being in his home. He was friendly but not intrusive — something I appreciate when I’m trying to have a special meal. Our pasta dish arrived and looked absolutely lovely although for the price, the portions were very small. We dug in and found that although it was tasty, it was incredibly salty. My husband and I are in the midst of cutting down on salt and sugar and found the meal to be VERY heavy handed with salt, so we didn’t finish our plates. We opted against dessert as we were quite full with a busy day ahead of us and the owner surprised us with a to-go box with a dessert to mark the occasion. All in all, Incanto is pricey but lovely. If you eat meat or fish, you’ve got wonderful selections. If you’re a vegetarian, you may not find as much to eat unless you’re there on a weekday or request a special meal. It was a nice experience but after waiting for so long, I’m not sure we’d be back very soon. Service was first class, it was spotless inside and it seemed like everybody there(both in the café and the other couple in the restaurant) were enjoying themselves. I’d really like to go back on another day and try this again to see if the experience in terms of food improves. All in all, a lovely place and I’d suggest it to any non-vegetarian.

Went(party of 4) Friday dinner. Easy to find, easy to park. Straightforward booking and they check you will be there on the day. Very friendly reception, and given a nice table. Interesting menu with good veggie option. Nice service and willing explanations. Their Ravioli filled with duck egg, guanciale cured meat, rocket pesto, confit tomato, Pecorino reserva cheese is a very innovative and tasty ‘signature’ dish. Everything was beautifully presented, and with one exception all dishes very fine. The steak on one dish was very chewy. Strange considering the though and assemblage of the rest. An interesting wine list, medium prices. A thoroughly good experience, and probably a pretty rare island of excellence in the area. Do go, I will again.

I was looking for a restaurant to take my partner out for a birthday dinner. I’d seen a few other reviews of Incanto, all of which were very complimentary. Having been there I can well understand why. From the first phone call to book I was impressed with the level of service and attention to detail, I was asked if the dinner was a special occasion, whether I’d like a quieter table etc. I was told about current specials on the menu, and had an interesting discussion about their food and wine lists, no rush to get the booking taken just an interest in ensuring that everything would be as I would like it to be. On the night the service was exemplary, just enough to ensure that you were being well taken care of, but not enough to be pushy or overzealous. The menu was full of fresh seasonal food and the wine list was extensive. When we asked the waiter about some wine recommendations he suggested we talk to the owner who came over and suggested wines in a variety of budgets and styles and helped point us to something that was wonderful for the price. The food was some of the best I’ve eated in London, perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. I can’t think of another restaurant within miles where the food and service is this good. A useful extra is that you can book tables online and, when you do, not only do you get a confirmation email but a text to your phone with the confirmation number.

Incanto is the best thing that Harrow has going for it. Drive away from the grotty town centre and up to Harrow-On-The-Hill to find this beautiful Italian restaurant. The deli section at the front is always well stocked and they offer very nice hot sandwiches and cakes. The restaurant at the back is however where the real magic happens. The food here is of an incredible standard both in terms of ingredients and cooking. Plates are very well presented and bread is constantly in circulation. A wine expert is on hand to advise you as to what would suit your meal and palate which is always a bit special and the waiters make an extra special effort to please everyone. If I had any complaint it would be that for my taste this service can get a bit fussy– I don’t need my table cleaned after every course or my glass filled every few minutes but I appreciate that they are catering to the Harrow-on-the-Hill elites who prefer this kind of fuss. On both occasions that I’ve eaten here I’ve been very impressed and I’m always surprised not to find it in the London ‘best of’s’. Maybe it’s a bit too far out for some but I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.

There aren’t many good restaurants that aren’t curry houses in the Harrow area, but if you are fit enough to walk up Harrow-on-the-Hill, or patient enough to look for a parking space, then Italian restaurant Incanto certainly delivers as a top notch eatery. The cosy delicatessen at the front over looks Harrow-on-the-Hill’s pretty high street where you can indulge yourself in the Italian art of people watching(if you enjoy the type of people watching that gets you arrested ie. young boys in their rugby shirts from the infamous local school). I had a ciabatta and a coffee, both of which were excellent if not a little pricey. The restaurant at the back is award winning and, whilst i didn’t eat in there, I popped my head around the corner and was slightly disappointed to see that it was dark and nineties looking, a real mismatch from the warm and simple delicatessen at the front.
