This restaurant is a little off the main drag but well worth the effort. Not part of a chain, authentic food– a little pricy but definitely worth the extra. One of the best restaurants in Harrow town centre(maybe even the best now).

The Trattoria Sorrentina is a small Italian-run restaurant in Harrow. The menu is not overwhelmingly big but you get a good range of high quality Italian dishes. Remarkably, the menu does not feature any Pizza whatsoever. This might sound strange at first — and while there’s no doubt that they could make a quality pizza if they wanted — I think that it symbolises that this restaurant does not need the blunt Italian=Pizza type of customer and does not like to be reducible to the obvious. Don’t get me wrong here. This is not a luxurious restaurant with a dress code and Rolls Royces parked outside. Quite the opposite actually. The Trattoria Sorrentina is a down-to-earth restaurant for the average jeans and t-shirt clientele who enjoy authentic italian food at affordable prices. The Trattoria is not exactly cheap but also not very expensive. All in all I’ve found the prices to be absolutely appropriate. To name a number, I’ve had a three course meal with a wine and an espresso for just under 30 pounds, which I think is fair. Talking about courses, I advise you not to miss out on the dessert which was absolutely delightful. A perfect ending to a nearly perfect meal. If you ask me about the downsides of this establishment, I’d say that the chairs weren’t too comfortable. But that’s not enough to dissuade me from my 5⁄5 rating. The lesson is clear: If you’re in this area, like italian food and think that eating is more than a means to getting full, go to the Trattoria Sorrentina and enjoy!
